Berlin, January 1st 2008: Football fills people with enthusiasm all over the world, and so it does in Second Life®, where it is becoming increasingly popular. Lately a German SL™ football team "Team Germany" was selected, which is now located at the virtual capital newBERLIN (www.BERLINin3D.com) with an own football field. Here, directly underneath the tv tower, they teain and take part in friendly matches, e.g. the one on January 16th against France. The match is awaited eagerly, as also in virtuality France is a great challenge for the German team. The match is a kind of final rehearsal for the 1. SL™ Soccer WorldCup that starts on february 20th. More than 15 teams already registered for the WorldCup, amongst them Brasil, Argentina, Spain, Turkey, England, Italy, USA, Poland, Peru and Greece.
The exiting thing about football in Second Life®: practice and matches are free for everyone. All you need is an avatar and you are welcome to join a match or watch a team practice!
